How Pathway can help you become, and remain, cookie law compliant

Love it or hate it, the cookie law is here to stay. But we know it's an absolute mine-field for marketers, and holds you back from doing the great work you're trying to do. That's where we come in.

We can help your business become cookie compliant - and stay there. Here's how:

One: audit your current setup

We'll start by reviewing your site, seeing what cookies it sets and what permissions it asks for. We'll tell you the tags and cookies that are set without user consent.

If you have one, we'll review your tag management tool. We'll assess what's loading with or without consent and what we need to change to make you compliant.

If you have some tags in a tag management system and some hard-coded, we'll identify the hard-coded ones and propose bringing them all into a single system.

Two: categorising your tags

As a business you're responsible for which cookies fall into which categories, and that your customers accept those categories with plenty of opportunity to know what cookies they're accepting within them.

We can do the legwork for you. We'll create a proposed list of tags and their categories. You can take this to your DPO to approve.

Three: choosing and setting up a cookie management tool

We'll then help you choose a cookie management tool, recommending them based on your budget and technical requirements. Once you're happy with a tool, we'll set it up for you and integrate it with your chosen tag management solution (e.g. GTM).

Four: configuring your tag management system

Finally, we'll configure your tag management system to correctly load cookies based on users' consent. We'll use your approved list for categorisation and help you set up special tags like GA4 and other Google products, which have different modes that allow you to collect anonymous, un-cookied data if a user doesn't consent to cookies.

We'll work with your developers to migrate any old hard-coded tags into the tag management system to give you full control over how and when they load.

So if cookies are getting you down, pop us a message and we'll give you a hand!
